Ultimate Collection of Whitney Houston MP3 Download
Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48. Best known for hits "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" and "So Emotional," Houston is the only artist to consecutively chart seven No. 1 hits. During her illustrious career she earned 415 awards, making her the most-awarded female music artist of all time. Houston paved the way for female vocalists and will endure as one of music’s most beloved voices.
While the past several years, the hype has been about more of the bad girls like the sleezy Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, we often really do forget about what has made our influences really shine, and that is just simply the voice. That is sadly the case as well with Whitney Houston. This past couple of years has been difficult for her, with the heartbreaking divorce of her ex-husband, Bobby Brown, and the tabloid fallout over her her personal problems, she is still coming back on solid ground, and her voice is still a knockout. But, in the U.S., there hasn't been a definitive hits album that has shown Whitney at her peaks. While the 2000 The Greatest Hits, had missed out on a lot of tracks, by choosing to make remixes come alive of most of her great songs, instead of the original editions, but the overseas version delivered better by not overdoing it on the remixes. Now, another chance has come around to bring this legendary voice back to a new era and the hearts of those who will still always love her.
The 2007 Whitney Houston: Ultimate Collection is a single disc retrospective of Whitney Houston at her best. The collection includes 18 of her great tracks that are definitely most of the best, but also does the trick mostly well, at re-introducing her sophisticated voice to a new generation. The collection includes her big #1 smashes including the definitive I Will Always Love You, One Moment In Time, her anthem for the 1988 Summer Olympics, as well as classics like Saving All My Love For You, The Greatest Love Of All, and and Exhale (Shoop Shoop) from Waiting To Exhale. The album also includes the overlooked When You Believe, her Oscar-winning duet with Mariah Carey from The Prince Of Egypt, which was overshadowed from her previous hits album. Surprisingly, there were a few great tracks that were sadly overlooked on this album including her breakout hit You Give Good Love, Heartbreak Hotel, I Believe In You & Me and Step By Step from The Preacher's Wife, All The Man That I Need, and One Of Those Days from her last album, Just Whitney.
Although Whitney Houston: The Ultimate Collection did overlook a few great songs, it stayed true and relevant at delivering a simple greatest hits album than the 2000 one, by trimming the dance beats, and staying true to just the simplicity of Whitney Houston's voice. While more of the hype right now is on acts like Britney Spears and her so-called comeback Blackout, Beyonce' and Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston's songs stand strong with the testiments of time, and this hits album does basically show that well.
